SWE’s Professional Development program empowers women to succeed and advance. We support the retention, recruitment and advancement of women in engineering and technology through career services, professional development, and networking. Our Professional Development programs include notable speakers, workshops, panel discussions, and joint events with other engineering societies.

Professional Development Committee
Your involvement in the committee will help you to develop leadership skills and gain visibility within SWE, your company, and the community. You can participate in the following ways:
- Be a speaker coordinator for one of our monthly meetings
- Suggest a speaker who might be a good fit to address SWE Boston
- Be a location coordinator for a meeting by making arrangements for the meal and meeting location
- Be an overall coordinator and create the meeting notice as well as oversee the speaker & location coordinator’s tasks
- Work with your employer to host or sponsor a meeting
- Help at the registration table at a meeting

Professional Development Planning Meetings
Do you like getting to know and working with professionals and engineers in STEM? Do you want to develop your professional network with women and marginalized genders in STEM?
Help our VP of Professional Development plan SWE Boston PD events for the upcoming fiscal year (July – June). We will look at different companies in the industry, discuss speakers, STEM and career topics, and brainstorm ways to encourage SWE professionals to achieve success in their personal and professional lives.
